Lerren & Jesse (Amos' bro and sis) and our nephew Oliver came to visit us! We had a good time going shopping, going to the Crayola Factory, touring Philadelphia and relaxing.
Some pics from Philly:

Then he managed another travel surprise, getting home from that trip a day earlier than originally planned (Friday night instead of Saturday night) so that we were able to spend Saturday together relaxing, watching Australia in the World Cup, and going to his new "favorite" store, Lowes. "Favorite" being a relative term for the store we most find ourselves leaving with a full car and an empty wallet. I've mentioned how much he loves his lawn and his garage, and this time it was a garage trip. He put some storage shelving up and is getting ready to hang the tools, but I digress...
He also received many thoughtful cards and gifts from dear friends and family. Thanks everyone for helping to make sure Amos had a special birthday this year!!

Tuesday night I went to sleep fairly late, around 11:30 but was woken up in the middle of the night by Amos walking into my room surprising me!! It was dark so I was having trouble actually believing it was him, since I thought there was NO WAY that he'd be able to make that happen. I had even talked to him earlier in the day and knew which airport he was at, so I checked online and there were no flights at all to Charleston from that airport and TWO flights to Detroit. Not to mention, even though I had been REALLY hoping he'd have a surprise up his sleeve, I knew that he'd have to call me to get him or at least tell him where we were staying. I'd given up.
But we had fun too!
We stayed in a beautiful beach house that my mom found. Amos and I even had our own loft living room and bedroom. We got lots of bike riding in, the meals and snacks made by mom and the grandmas were delicious, it was fun catching up with my grandparents, and we all came back tan and relaxed. Thanks for such a great vacation! And for the surprise!

Amos putting together her travel system. The handle on the stroller flips both ways so she can either face us, or face the world. (and if she misbehaves as a toddler I can make her face me!)
And this doesn't have to do with the baby but since the previous owner left some white paint, Amos decided to paint the garage. I have never seen someone so excited to get the garage painted. Apparently he hates splotchy garages.
I'll admit it does look good now. A few days afterwards he'd still wander down there just to admire his work. :)
