1 Year Old!

Our baby girl turned 1!

She's 20 lbs. and 2 1/2 feet tall.

On her birthday she woke up to a bunch of balloons. She didn't much care for the one I bought her last month but she really was interested in these. The first thing she did when she saw them all was point at them so she could go see them.
Practicing her headers with the balloon.

Hanging out with Dad. He said he'd let her do whatever she wanted for the whole day. He even posted it on facebook. No taking it back now!
"Hmm...I should take advantage of this. What shall I do?"
Mimi and Geepy came for her birthday. Since they saw how much she enjoyed the bike seat at the beach they got her one of her own. This one is really neat since it attaches in front, so you can keep an eye on them and they get a better view. She loves it!

It's a family tradition in both of our families to make really fun cakes for each birthday. Since she's too young to pick her own theme we picked a monkey one since she is our little monkey.

Blowing out her candle.
Eating cake!

Opening presents!
Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

What she's doing at 1 month:

She loves to be sung to and she'll start to "sing" along.

Her most frequent sounds are "goy goy goy goy" and "taka taka taka." She says words like mama, uh oh, and dada when imitating, but doesn't really know what they mean yet, I think.

She likes to push a chair around the kitchen. I think she likes that it helps her stay on her feet

She loves her new baby brother; she did from the beginning. When she wakes up in the morning she points at his crib because she wants to go see him and give him kisses. The way she kisses him is she puts her mouth and nose in his hair (and it tickles her face) or she very carefully rests her head against his.

She has started to point at things that she wants to go see.

I think she understands the word "baby."

When she sees a dog on the pages of any of her books she makes the pitch of sound I do when I say 'woof woof'

She is the proud owner of 1 laptop, 3 cell phones, 1 ipod touch, 3 remotes and she practically owns her dad's ipad. Who needs toys when there are electronics!

She gets really scared if she's pushing buttons on the tv and pushes the eject button so the dvd pops out.

She likes flicking light switches. So far she can only flick them down.

She loves to destroy towers made from blocks.

She shares her food with mom when she's eating (sometimes even taking something out of her mouth and offering it) and shares her pacifier with dad.

She wants anything dad is eating. Even if she didn't like it when it was on her tray, she likes it if it comes from the bowl dad is eating out of later (like mac n cheese)

She took her first few steps from the coffee table to dad!
